Island Dining : Fresh Creative Cuisine

CREATIVE ISLAND CUISINE TO EXCITE THE SENSES 


Your day starts with a Castaway buffet breakfast including an array of Fiji's tropical fruits, yoghurts, juices and cereals.  Our Chef will prepare eggs any style you choose with a varied selection of hot accompaniments including bacon, sausages, hotcakes and other daily specials.  Our fresh home baked selection includes Danish pastries, croissants, crusty breads and muffins, together with a selection of teas and freshly brewed coffee. 

Our all day casual dining menu commences late morning with choices to satisfy all appetites. Our daily menu offers light snacks, substantial meals or a buffet lunch as you desire. Additionally our gourmet wood fired pizza selection is available all day and through the evening at our Sundowner Bar and is not to be missed!

At night we dine alfresco under a canopy of Castaway stars overlooking the clear waters of the Pacific. Our a la carte menu features modern Fijian cuisine incorporating the freshest Fijian seafood, prime grade beef, poultry and local Fijian specialties together with fresh vegetables, crisp salads and crusty home baked breads - all complemented with hand selected wines.

MEAL PLANS
Our Castaway Island daily meal plan offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with an unrestricted choice from all menus including theme nights, at a daily set price. The daily meal plan may be purchased on the island and is flexible, recognising various arrival and departure times. The plan does not include alcoholic beverages, soft drinks and specialty coffees. All meals are served at our Water's Edge Restaurant or the Sundowner Bar.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT FIJIAN FEAST - LOVO - AND MEKE PERFORMANCE - FIJI'S NARRATIVE DANCE.

Our traditional Fijian Feast is served every Wednesday evening. Eat like a true Fiji family eats. You will want to witness the lighting of the fire, built over dry river stones in the fire pit. Once the stones are white hot this traditional earth oven, or Lovo, is ready to receive seafood, meats and root crop vegetables prepared by first wrapping in banana leaves and palm fronds. The food parcels are then placed on those stones and covered whilst cooking. This unique method delivers truly delicious food for our buffet feast with a sensational island flavour. Your Castaway family will perform a traditional Meke of Fijian songs and action dances at 6:30 pm followed by the Fijian Feast at 7:00 pm.

SATURDAY BEACH BBQ

Castaway's barbecue is featured every Saturday from 7:00 pm. Enjoy chargrilled steaks, chicken and fish Fiji style with crisp salads, homemade pastas, traditional curries, local Fijian vegetables and more. Join in the beach party with the Castaway Beach Boys - fun and games for all to enjoy.

RESORT MANAGER'S COCKTAIL PARTY

Come and meet our resort management team every Wednesday night from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, poolside or at the Lali Bar terrace. Enjoy a glass or two of our 'Liquid Sunshine' and complimentary canapes whilst taking in the setting sun and enjoying the company of new friends.

BAR HOURS

The "Lali Bar" our main bar, opens at 8:00 am and closes when the last person leaves. The Sundowner Bar is open for drinks and our famous gourmet wood fired pizzas and snacks from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm with Happy Hour from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm daily. During Happy Hour at the Sundowner Bar, we encourage a child free environment.
